Artist Bio

Abigail Arnett is a Seattle-based fiber artist whose practice explores the intersections of identity, memory, and transformation through meticulously handcrafted works. Drawing from personal experiences as a queer individual, Arnett uses textiles to represent the emotional and physical processes of healing, resilience, and repair. Through the destruction and reconstruction of fabric, Arnett creates sculptural works that explore the concept of scarring as both a literal and metaphorical marker of growth and trauma. Their work invites viewers to engage with vulnerability as a form of strength, and to consider how the body, like cloth, carries history in every fold and wrinkle.
